3AF ANNOUNCES 3AF 2024 EXCELLENCE AWARDS WINNERS

Gala Dinner Honors Key Industry Partners and the Best and Brightest Work in the Industry

May 30, 2024 – Plano, TX – The Asian American Advertising Federation (3AF), the leading resource in Asian advertising and Asian marketing, honored winners in the annual 3AF Excellence Awards competition last night. The awards were bestowed during a gala dinner at the 3AF Asian Marketing Summit, the largest national conference focused on the power of the Asian American consumer.

Asian Americans are the fastest-growing consumer segment, with a high concentration in geographic areas, an over-index in many consumer categories, high use of technology, and strong brand loyalty. According to Nielsen, the collective purchasing power of Asian Americans is more than $1.6 trillion, growing 314% between 2000 and 2019, far exceeding the increase in purchasing power of all other racial and ethnic groups over the same period. For comparison, the total U.S. buying power grew 119% during the same period. Since 1999, 3AF has been helping marketers in their brand journey in the Asian segment.

This year, a record number of entries were submitted. Awards were presented in eight categories:

  • 3AF Marketing Research Partner of the Year
  • 3AF Media Partner of the Year
  • 3AF Marketer of the Year
  • 3AF New Marketer of the Year
  • 3AF Social Media/PR Campaign of the Year
  • 3AF Digital Campaign of the Year
  • 3AF Media Innovation Campaign of the Year
  • 3AF Creative Campaign of the Year

To celebrate 3AF’s 25th anniversary this year, two new awards were added:

  • 3AF Global Impact Award, recognizing immense contributions and advocacy on behalf of connecting the Asian American and Asian international communities
  • 3AF Hall of Legends award, a new annual legacy award recognizing individuals who were instrumental in 3AF’s success and/or have dedicated their professional lives to pursuing excellence in Asian marketing.

3AF Executive Director Genny Hom-Franzen said, “What a great night! It was heart-warming to gather so many of the key national industry leaders, our board members, and summit attendees to celebrate and recognize the many partners and members who make the Asian American advertising and marketing industry possible.   • 3AF Media Innovation Campaign of the Year: Admerasia for client McDonald’s (“Sauces”)
  • 3AF Creative Campaign of the Year – Bronze: Plan C Agency for client Procter & Gamble/Old Spice (“Men Have Skin Too”)
  • 3AF Creative Campaign of the Year – Silver: Intertrend for client Toyota (“Grip”)
  • 3AF Creative Campaign of the Year – Gold: Ethnicity Matters for TD Canada (“Committed to Community”)
